Cape Smokey, Canada
Skiing with the Atlantic below.

Cape Smokey offers something completely different from Canada’s giant western resorts. Set above Ingonish Beach on Cape Breton Island, the mountain rises beside the Atlantic, allowing you to ski and snowboard with views across the ocean and Cape Breton Highlands. Its compact terrain is served by the Atlantic Gondola and a Poma lift, giving it a quieter, more intimate character than Banff or Whistler, while snowshoeing and the wider landscapes of the Cabot Trail make it as much about discovering Cape Breton in winter as clocking up piste mileage.
Why
Cape Smokey?
MOUNTAIN MEETS OCEAN
Ski with the Atlantic stretching out beneath you.
THE ATLANTIC GONDOLA
Cape Smokey is home to Atlantic Canada's first gondola.
CAPE BRETON HIGHLANDS
The views stretch across both the ocean and the neighbouring national park.
MORE THAN SKIING
Snowshoeing, coastal scenery and exploring the Cabot Trail can all form part of the trip.
